aXis 2000 - Analysis of X-ray Images and Spectra.

The latest version is 17 May 2016

At the IDL8.3 version it became possible to execute aXis2000 on Mac OSX systems
This version should work on other Unix operating systems as well.

I would appreciate if anyone who is running aXis2000 on a unix operating system
other than Mac OSX (my version is 10.9.5 Mavericks) to let me know their experiences.

the aXis2000.sav is in the downloaded zip file

The code was compiled using IDL 8.3.0, Build id: 20131115
on a MacBookAir running Mavericks (OS X 10.9.5)

 Do NOT use folder names with blanks
for the source code or your data !!!

Instructions to INSTALL - please note the virtual machine version will ONLY work if you put it
in the folder /Users/XXXXXX/aXis2000 where XXXXXX is the name of the user (single or group).

For installation on a unix system (MacOSX or Linux),
the first line in the file axis_unix.ini must be set to /Users/XXXXXX/aXis2000/

For installation on a Windows system,
the first line of axis_win.ini should be c:\aXis2000\

              assuming that you have followed the advice to install the code and aXis2000.sav into c:\aXis2000\
