McMaster Variable Angle High Resolution Electron Spectrometer
McVAHRES was built by James Francis, Tolek Tyliszczak and David Kilcoyne in 1992-1995, with substantial later modifications by Tolek while Gabi Eustatiu was operating the instrument for her PhD (1996-2000).
Currently it is being used for studies of Generalized Oscillator Strengths for inner shell excitation in stable small molecules.
The results are frequently analyzed in comparison with high level ab initio calculations of the group of Carlinhos Bielschowsky, UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro.
